January Isla Update
Well, let’s just talk about today… 1/8/2022
What an out of this world whirlwind of love today was. First, we attended an amazing benefit at The Neches Brewing Company for Isla’s Faith. Once again our community came out like a tornado of love to support our girl. We had a BALL and cannot thank everyone enough for organizing this and making it such an amazing day. There are so many people I’d like to thank but I would especially like to extend my deepest gratitude to the Powers family, the Cardenas family, the Dews family, Lacy Elam, Neches Brewing Company, Yum BBQ, The Ware family, The Smith family, Jessica Sonnier and Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 3743, and everyone who donated, attended, and helped today be such a success! We will never forget the love we felt today.
As if that weren’t enough, the amazing organizers of the Miss Mardi Gras Scholarship Pageant selected Isla to be the beneficiary of their extremely kind and generous “People’s Choice” fundraiser AND awarded her as a lifetime Queen for Miss Mardi Gras. It was an absolutely beautiful and touching moment and Isla’s face LIT UP when they put that crown on her head! Thank you Desirae A King, Navia Leann Thompson, and everyone involved for making Isla truly feel like a queen tonight. Their generous contribution for Isla’s Faith was a total of $4,500 tonight!!! WOW!
Isla is a true warrior and some days her fight is hard and stressful, and some days (like today) her fight is beautiful and inspiring.
