Isla Edwards Day pt. 2

Isla Day pt. II

Two Words: Grant's Guardians.

This amazing group of people do so much to give back to our community and to help neighbors in need. Each Holiday season they organize a Christmas benefit and this year our sweet Isla girl was named the guest of honor and beneficiary for this amazing event.

When we arrived they had an entire table DECKED OUT with all Isla’s favorite things. There was an Isla cake, pancakes, and flamingos galore! Every little detail was so thoughtful! The entire room was filled with amazing raffle and auction prizes donated from members of our community and all night there was nothing but joy and laughter and love (and Isla tearing up the dance floor )

With the help of many generous donors and event attendees, our Isla Day evening was one we will never forget for the rest of our lives.

Tonight, surrounded by friends old and new, Grant’s Guardian’s presented Isla with a check for ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS to aid in her fight against Batten Disease. (It’s okay if your jaw is on the floor. Mine still is too.)

How can we possibly adequately thank each and every person who helped us get here? How can we put into words how much this will change the future of our daughter’s life? There is no way to possibly begin to articulate the amount of gratitude we have for SO MANY people, but there is one person I can’t go without taking the time to personally acknowledge.

David Grant.

Even though we never had the chance to meet, this man has changed our lives. David, like our Isla, was dealt an unfair card. Before he passed he selflessly asked his best friends to continue with their fundraising to help others in need. Because of this wish, our lives are permanently changed and we are a giant step closer to being able to afford upcoming opportunities to save our daughters life. How can you ever fully thank someone for that gift? We choose to thank him by preserving his legacy and continuing to help others in need and I am here to humbly ask for you to join us in this. If you are able, please support the amazing non-profit group that is Grant’s Guardians in honor of the selflessness and thoughtfulness of our guardian angel David. Already from this one single event this group has been able to help many other local friends in need on top of helping Isla.

All of the money raised for Isla’s Faith is deposited into a medical trust fund overseen by a board of trustees. These funds only go to the aid of Isla and the costs associated with her fight against Batten Disease. It is my daily prayer that this financial preparation will fund her CURE. We refuse to let this disease rob her of the life she deserves. My heart is full seeing the army of people standing behind us as we face this battle.

December 4th, 2021 and Grant’s Guardian’s are PROOF that a community that can come together has the ability to change lives and quite possibly save them.

And that is just incredible
